Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the KeyTrace token and identity service, APIs, SDKs, dashboard, and website (the "Service"), provided by KeyTrace, Inc. ("KeyTrace," "we," "us"). By joining the waitlist, accessing the closed beta, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Definitions
- Service — the KeyTrace token issuance, validation, rotation, and revocation platform and related software.
- Realm — an isolated tenant with its own signing keys, clients, and policies.
- Tokens — access and refresh credentials issued through the Service.
- Beta — the invite-only closed beta period during which the Service is offered.
2. Closed Beta terms
The Service is currently offered as an invite-only closed beta, admitted in batches following a security and fit review. During the Beta:
- Access is granted at our discretion and may be limited, suspended, or withdrawn at any time;
- The Service is provided without any availability, uptime, or support commitment, notwithstanding any figures shown on our website or status page;
- Features may change, break, or be removed without notice;
- You grant us a royalty-free license to use feedback you provide to improve the Service.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use tokens or the Service to circumvent, bypass, or defeat any authentication or authorization control you are not authorized to access;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract signing keys or source code, except to the extent permitted by law;
- Exceed documented rate limits, or probe, scan, or load-test the Service without prior written permission;
- Use the Service to store or transmit unlawful, infringing, or malicious content;
- Resell or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly permitted.
4. API terms & credentials
You are responsible for keeping client_id and client_secret values confidential and for all activity under your realms. You must not embed a client_secret in a public client (use PKCE instead). You are responsible for tokens issued under your realms and for validating them correctly. We may rotate keys, revoke credentials, or rate-limit requests to protect the Service.
5. Fees
Beta access is provided free of charge unless otherwise agreed in writing. Prices displayed on our website are indicative and are finalized when your team is admitted from Beta. We may introduce or change fees on notice as the Service moves to general availability.
6. Warranties & disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE DURING THE BETA. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KEYTRACE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) US$100.
8. Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless KeyTrace from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.
9. Term & termination
These Terms apply while you access the Service. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time during the Beta. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive venue for disputes will be the state and federal courts located in Delaware.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date and, where appropriate, communicated by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
